Ingredients:
- 1 cup any kind of bean
- 4 cups water
Directions (Plan ahead method):
- Soak 1 cup of beans in 4 cups water overnight
- drain and rinse beans
- Pour beans into pot and cover with 1 inch of water
- bring to a boil and simmer until soft (approximately 1 hour)
- Season with salt and other seasonings to taste
- DO NOT add salt until beans are soft
Directions (Procrastinate a little method):
- Bring 1 cup any kind of beans in 4 cups water to a rolling boil, remove from heat, cover pot, and let stand 1 hour
- Drain and rinse beans
- Pour beans into pot and cover with 1 inch of water
- bring to a boil and simmer until soft (approximately 1 hour)
- Season with salt and other seasonings to taste
- DO NOT add salt until beans are soft
Directions (Procrastinate a lot method):
- Rinse 1 cup of beans
- Pour rinsed beans into pressure cooker and cover with 3-4 cups of water
- Cook on high for 30-45 minutes (depends on pressure cooker setting)
- You CAN add salt and seasonings prior to cooking in a pressure cooker
